I sourced this beautiful jug from a person who was downsizing, and this water jug was handed down from his grandmother then to his mother and then to him, who was retirement age himself and he said he remembers it when he was a child visiting his grandparents which is lovely.
This jug dates right back to mid to late 1800's and was made in Fenton by Pratt and Simpson. I would hazard a guess that it did have a matching water bowl and would have been used in the bedroom before they had washrooms, or what we now call bathrooms.
This jug is still very functional as a flower vase, or a visual functional piece in any home, bathroom, or business that would like a beautiful large showpiece.
There are no cracks or chips and only has ware on the handle from use over the decades.
