These two beautiful Royal Crown Derby Pembroke side plates would have been part of an entire dinner set that would be all decorated in this particular Pembroke design the markings are specific to day month and year and the bundle they came from with the makers initial I believe.

The classic blue and white is always eye catching and romantic on the eye and I can see the attraction just from these two beautiful plates.

This is where I get to do my detective work and use my reference books to pin them down, I found out that these two side plates were made on September 20th, in 1883, from bundle thirteen and one has the letter C, and the other the letter L which I am guessing is the maker in the factory.

I love learning about British ceramic manufacturers, and I know that Royal Crown Derby was and still is extremely popular due to the designs, colours, and perfection of the wares, including Royalty.

The fact that they started out in the 1700s and are still going strong today is testament to the original creators and designers that they led in originality, innovation, and style that ages well and provokes collectors and buyers of this particular brand.

They have been used and do have very minor but non evasive lines on the underside of the plates and the gold gilding trim on one is worn more than the other but no chips to be seen and would look beautiful on a dinner table set for two anywhere.

They have come this far to be available to you in my store and will hopefully be looked after for many years to come by the lucky person who knows style when they see it.
